Just Us {Bazinga!}

Adam received all four seasons of Big Bang Theory on DVD for Christmas. In our free time, we have been watching them all. And although all 54 episodes we have watched so far have been amazing, this is one of our favorite Big Bang Theory moments. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Wedding {Gift Registry}

We spent the majority of our weekend in two stores, Macy’s and Bed Bath and Beyond. That’s right, we registered for our wedding shower! On Saturday, we spent the afternoon at Macy’s, where the lady we worked with was very energetic. On Sunday, we headed to Bed Bath and Beyond.

At Macy’s, the first thing that we had to register for was serving dishes that Melanie fell in love with even before we were engaged. Adam clearly remembers going into Macy’s about a year ago, before he proposed, and she said “We are registering for these!” Besides Melanie’s favorite serving dishes, we also registered for China, flatware, some cute popcorn bowls, some of our bedding, and so much more.

Adam enjoyed Sunday’s trip to BB&B much more than Macy’s. He loved being able to pick out knives and cooking utensils. He took this part of the trip very seriously, since he takes after his grandpa and loves working in the kitchen. Melanie’s favorite part was picking out things for bathroom and bedroom. Although Adam was secretly very opinionated about these things as well, he is grateful that Melanie stood her ground. If she didn’t, there would be basketball decor all over the house!

Here are some of our favorite things we put on the Gift Registry:

We picked out our dishes a few months ago from JCPenney, but we wanted to show them anyways 🙂

Serving pieces from Macy’s that Melanie has had her eye on forever

Our shower curtain and bathroom accessories, accented with dark purple towels and floor mats.

Our bedding, also accented with dark purple Euro pillows and throws.

All in all we had a lot of fun registering, but didn’t realize how much work it would actually be. We still have a few things that need to be added, but we are so excited with how much progress we have made so far. We can’t wait to recreate our home, and also have new pots and pans to use in the kitchen!

Much Love,
Adam and Melanie

The ceremony location, reception site, photographer, and band have all been booked. We have decided where to get our flowers, and our cake. The gown has been ordered, as well as the girls’ dresses. We have gotten a lot of the BIG stuff done, which means we now have a little time for the small things. The fun things. The things that will make our day personal and unique. Our first project is the wedding favors. The supplies for the favor decorations were purchased months ago, but we just recently found the time to put them all together.

Now, we don’t want to spoil this for our guests, so we will not be telling you what the final product is (we have to leave some  surprises for the day of). The pictures you are about to see may have some black lines through areas that would ruin the surprise. But lets just say, we are really excited with how these are going to turn out when all is said and done.

During the holidays when everyone was in town for dress shopping, we put the bridesmaids and moms to work. We are beyond thankful for all their help!

Just another craft to show you all! Melanie made a few letter photo art Christmas gifts for her sister, Lauren and good friend, Tonya. One is pink and white, the other blue and black. They were quite simple to make, although they required much more paint than anticipated. So that means Pinterest Craft #4 is complete (#5 is also complete, but we will save that for a different day). Enjoy!

Just Us {Thankful}

So over the past months, since we have gotten engaged, Melanie has taken the ball on a lot of the projects. She is doing a great job, and I love her so much for all the thought that she puts into our wedding. She has such a creative mind, and comes up with really cool ideas! Together we have already done so much for our wedding, but still we have some work to do. I am always sure to put in my two cents where needed, but Melanie does such a great job, I mostly agree with everything 🙂 I am forever grateful and indebted to Melanie for all her amazing work and creative ideas! I want to let Melanie know how thankful I am for everything she does, and that I will love her forever and ever!

Wedding {Bridal Show}

Yesterday, my mom, sister, and I all attended Dow Event Center’s Bridal World. Since all the big wedding decisions have been made, it was so much fun going there and only paying attention to all the little details. We were able to get a lot of ideas for decorations and centerpieces. When we arrived home, all us girls emptied the contents of our big bag full of flyers, books, coupons, dress magazines, and even a hot pad. We sat for hours discussing all our ideas for the wedding (well… mostly my big ideas), making sure we were on schedule with the planning, and flipping through to find the perfect dress for my mom to wear. It was a GREAT day with the girls, and it made me even more excited (if that’s possible) for the wedding to come. I have so many ideas for favors, table numbers, cakes, and even a few other surprises. Stay tuned, I may end up sharing some of the little details… eventually. And a big thank you to Mom and Lauren for making yesterday such a fabulous day!

Much Love,
Melanie

About three weeks ago (yes, we are a bit behind), we traveled to Bay City for a cake tasting. Alicia from Leesh’s Pieces welcomed us into her home to sample some of her delicious cake flavors and we were very impressed! We sampled cherry chip, lemon, banana, marble, white, and vanilla, and loved them all! Needless to say, we booked her right then and there. We haven’t made any final decisions yet, but our favorite 4 flavors were lemon, cherry chip, banana, and vanilla. Now, we just have to figure out a cake design! Originally we were thinking very simple, but Melanie has been hunting online and found some really neat ones.

These are some of our favorites so far:
