Just Us {Happy Halloween!}

We hope everyone is enjoying their Halloween night!
We decorated the house, put on our costumes, and waited for all the trick-or-treaters to come, and by all we mean thirteen of them. Needless to say, the rest of our night will be spent drinking Witch’s Brew, eating the leftover candy, and watching Hocus Pocus!

Much Love,
Adam & Melanie

Well, here is a weekend recap… a day late. Get ready for this action packed weekend! Sorry for the delay, moving and wedding planning tend to take up a lot of time 🙂

Friday got off to an early start (for Melanie having the day off). She had to meet the carpet cleaners bright and early at 8:30am. When she arrived at the house, she noticed all the neighbors had their trash out, so she rushed to drag/toss the heavy bags out to the curb in time for the truck to drive by the house. Apparently, FRIDAY is trash day! The rest of the day was spent doing last minute packing, taking boxes to the house, and of course, watching the Opening Ceremonies of the OLYMPICS!

Saturday was another early morning for us. Adam and the guys had the task of moving all of our furniture, while Melanie had her third and final BRidal Shower.

After the Bridal Shower, Melanie returned back to the house with her mom and sister, and the unpacking began. With the unpacking came a masterpiece in the garage, formally known as the Leaning Tower of Boxes.

After all that hard work, it was Margarita Time!!

Sunday was another eventful day! First of all, we had to return our furry friend to her owners 😦 . We got some furniture delivered from Adam’s parents, AND we got our washer and dryer hooked up. That’s right, we now have our very own WASHER AND DRYER! 🙂

Sunday afternoon we headed to Linwood to celebrate Grandma Mary’s 75th Birthday with the rest of the Richter clan. We finished the weekend off watching the Olympics, but most importantly, Women’s Gymnastics!

See… we told you it was eventful! Could we have possibly stuffed anything else into this weekend… we think not!

Can’t believe it’s already Tuesday! This week is going to fly by!

Much Love,
Adam & Melanie

Just Us {House Guest}

We have a house guest for the next ten days, and we are so excited to finally have a visitor! Meet Zoey, our furry, four-legged friend. Although she won’t be much help with the packing, she will keep us enertained and exercised. She is settling in well, as Adam is treating her like a queen (Melanie has been replaced).

Much Love,

We are choosing to do our Weekend Recap on Sunday this week, because we have some exciting news to share with you tomorrow!

We spent a long weekend on Higgins Lake for Adampalooza (Adam’s birthday)! After finally enjoying the Pizza Hut lunch buffet on Thursday, we headed north for some camping with Adam’s parents, and Zoey too. After setting up camp, we relaxed at the campsite for the remainder of the evening.

Friday, Melanie slept in while Adam headed to the golf course with his dad. When he returned, we went for a run around the campground and then headed to the beach for a fun-filled day in the sun!

Saturday was Adam’s birthday, or ADAMPALOOZA as he likes to call it. Melanie’s parents came up for the day to celebrate, and we spent some more time at the beach. We grilled hot dogs and corn for dinner, and finished the night with popcorn and s’mores over the fire.

Sadly, we had to come back today, and our afternoon was spent doing laundry and running errands. Back to work tomorrow for another LONNGG busy week (five day weeks always seem so much worse after a short week)!

If you missed Adam’s birthday post with his baby picture, be sure to check it out!

We hope everyone else had a fun-filled weekend and stayed cool with this hot weather!

Much Love,
Adam & Melanie

We hope everyone took full advantage of 7/11 and got their free Slurpee today! Melanie and her sister, Lauren, set out for Slurpee Tour of Saginaw today. Although Adam couldn’t be there, he was able to get his Slurpee on his lunch break.

Slurpee Tour of Saginaw:

Here is the route we took to make it to SIX 7-Elevens. This required some strategy as we needed to leave enough time for us to consume our Slurpees between stores so they didn’t melt.

We switched up the flavors at each store to get some variety. Cherry and Coke is still my favorite!

Picture #1: Shattuck and Bay: Our first stop! Not only did they have free Slurpees, but they were also giving away popcorn and cake! Jackpot!
Picture #2: State and Center: Very busy! We had to park in a different lot, other than that, nothing too exciting.
Picture #3: Center and West Michigan: Deserted. Free Slurpees, and more cake.
Picture #4: Gratiot and Miller: Free Slurpee and a potty break.
Picture #5: State and Wieneke: At this point, the consumption of Slurpees had slowed.
Picture #6: Weiss and Bay: A line out the door. They were giving away free Slurpees, hot dogs, and BALLOONS! They also had dancing Slurpees outside.

At one point, Lauren was double fisting her Slurpees.

Twelve Slurpees in all. 85.32 ounces of yummy Slurpees goodness.

I’d say it was a successful day!

How many FREE Slurpees did you have today? Did anyone forget it was 7/11… I sure hope not!

Much Love,

On Thursday, Melanie found her computer sitting in a puddle of water on our desk, needless to say it is no longer functional, so please bare with us if we aren’t posting as frequently (or posting much later during the day than usual)!  We are sharing a computer, and Melanie is not used to this computer at all. Typos may also become common…

Anyways, it is Monday night, and that means we are about 15 hours late on our Weekend Recap, so here it goes…

We spent the weekend on Walloon Lake, well most of the weekend anyways. Jenna was around for one more weekend, so we decided to spend as much time with her as possible, and the lake wasn’t so bad either.

Friday we had Date Night, and a long awaited one at that. We headed to Harvey’s and enjoyed a wonderful dinner and some yummy martinis. After that, we played a round of putt putt and Adam may have beat Melanie brutally by a few strokes. Melanie likes to blame the heat, while Adam has decided it’s just what you would expect from the Sts. Peter and Paul Golf Tournament Champ.

Saturday morning came bright and early. We had an appointment at Horizon’s to discuss final details for the wedding reception. By the time we walked out of there, Melanie had to-do lists spinning around in her head. Holy cow, there is so much left to do and the next 6 weeks are going to FLYYY by.

After our appointment, we headed straight to Walloon Lake and spent the day relaxing in the sun, swimming, kayaking, reading, and napping. We headed into Petoskey for dinner, and then walked the pier.

Adam decided his mom needed a nice big rock for her rock garden, so he found her this treasure.

We spent Sunday afternoon on the dock baking in the sun once again, watching as sailboats filled the lake. Later on, we headed home with sunburns (Adam looks like a lobster).

Well, that was our weekend! We hope you had as much fun as we did!

Much Love,
Adam & Melanie
